Two clay bodies are made in the workshop. A stoneware, based on nearby Kiripaka fireclay, is blended with small additions of feldspar and ballclay. While a porcelain, based on the Matauri Bay China clay deposits further north, require significant additions of ballclay, silica, and feldspar. |
