Two clay bodies are made in the workshop. A stoneware, based on nearby Kiripaka fireclay, is blended with small additions of feldspar and ballclay. While a porcelain, based on the Matauri Bay China clay deposits further north, require significant additions of ballclay, silica, and feldspar.

Porcelain and tableware fired to 1300C LPG kiln. Terracotta and saggar firing to 1050C - 1150C. Wood firing to 1300C in woodfire kiln. Raku fired to 1050C.
